It’s 2026 and making games is hard. On top of it being hard to make the game itself, getting funding to make said game is also, sadly, very hard.
BUT there are people out there writing checks (maybe even for you!). But if anything, I just want to take a moment to highlight a handful of the game funds out there, doing what they can to help out even when the industry is in a tough place.
Before we dive in, and to address the elephant in the room, many of these funds are very selective in the games they invest in, and are usually targeting specific types of games and teams.
With that said, here are some funds still investing in indie games:
Blue Ocean Games#
Backed by PUBG maker KRAFTON, Blue Ocean Games is a Toronto-based $30 million USD game fund aimed at providing $100,000-$300,000 USD to games in concept-stage who fall outside traditional investment criteria.

WINGS#
WINGS is an indie fund providing up to $500,000 in funding to teams founded or co-founded by women and gender-marginalized developers (very much needed!)

Phantom Friends#
Phantom Friends is a brand new indie fund, looking to invest in a particular type of games: Darker-themed narrative games.

Game Seer#
Game Seer is a boutique venture fund exclusively for indie PC & Consoles games, run by investors with 15 years of industry know-how who co-invest with established publishers or work with business partners to ensure games ship in the best conditions. You talk directly with the investors. On top of being an investor, Game Seer published indie-hit Half Sword through Game Seer Publishing!

Outersloth#
Outersloth**, **an indie fund by Innersloth (best names in the biz?) of Among Us and Henry Stickmin fame. They give you money, you retain all rights to your IP and company, and they take no credit or authority over your game (neat!) Their revenue split is 50/50 until the investment is recouped, then drops to just 15% to Outersloth and 85% to the developer, with a fixed seven-year term regardless of success.

Midgame Fund#
Midgame Fund is a collective of Dutch investors investing in Dutch indie games. As per their website “Midgame Fund investors have so far invested in 6 projects with a total investment of ± €800.000”.

Landfall#
Landfall, best known as the developers of (peak) games such as PEAK, Content Warning, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator and more, also invests in selective games and studios, providing funding and advice along the way.

Monster Fund#
Massive Monster**, **the studio behind Cult of the Lamb, has started an indie fund appropriately named ‘Monster Fund’ which (currently) only invests in games made in Victoria, Australia by offering funding between $50,000 - $2 million AUD, Mentorship, Co-Working space and more
