It’s 2026 and making games is hard. On top of it being hard to make the game itself, getting funding to make said game is also, sadly, very hard.

BUT there are people out there writing checks (maybe even for you!). But if anything, I just want to take a moment to highlight a handful of the game funds out there, doing what they can to help out even when the industry is in a tough place.

Before we dive in, and to address the elephant in the room, many of these funds are very selective in the games they invest in, and are usually targeting specific types of games and teams.

With that said, here are some funds still investing in indie games:

Blue Ocean Games#

Backed by PUBG maker KRAFTON, Blue Ocean Games is a Toronto-based $30 million USD game fund aimed at providing $100,000-$300,000 USD to games in concept-stage who fall outside traditional investment criteria.

WINGS is an indie fund providing up to $500,000 in funding to teams founded or co-founded by women and gender-marginalized developers (very much needed!)

Outersloth**, **an indie fund by Innersloth (best names in the biz?) of Among Us and Henry Stickmin fame. They give you money, you retain all rights to your IP and company, and they take no credit or authority over your game (neat!) Their revenue split is 50/50 until the investment is recouped, then drops to just 15% to Outersloth and 85% to the developer, with a fixed seven-year term regardless of success.
